About Clickers (Hinged Rings)
Clickers and hinged rings are rings with a hinged segment that snaps shut, so you can change them without ring-opening pliers. They are worn in septum, eyebrow, ear, navel and nipple piercings. SVT Shop carries segment rings, hinged segment rings, septum clickers, belly clickers, nipple clickers, rook clickers and multi-purpose clickers.
The hinged rings named Sterilized Titanium are sold sterilized; for a new piercing, see Sterilized Clickers (Hinged Rings). The surgical steel and PVD-coated clickers are not sold sterilized and are for fully healed piercings and jewelry changes.
Clicker and hinged ring styles
- Plain segment rings: hinged segment rings in 0.8 mm, 1 mm and 1.2 mm, in polished, black and gold PVD titanium, with a seamless profile and tool-free closure.
- CZ and design rings: heart, chevron, double hoop and triple row styles with prong-set CZ, some with a left or right opening.
- Septum clickers: round or plain hinged septum clickers in black, gold and rose gold PVD, jeweled or plain.
- Placement clickers: belly clickers, nipple clickers, rook clickers and multi-purpose clickers.
Choosing a clicker
Match the gauge in your piercing: 0.8 mm is 20G, 1 mm is 18G and 1.2 mm is 16G. The diameter is the inside measurement, and 8 mm and 10 mm are common for septum and cartilage. A ring sits differently from a bar, so ask your piercer whether your piercing is ready for one.

Clicker FAQ
What is a clicker ring? A clicker is a ring whose hinged section clicks shut. Our product listings describe the closure as tool-free.
What is the difference between a clicker and a captive ring? A clicker closes with a hinge. A captive ring holds a separate bead in the gap by tension and usually needs ring-opening pliers.
